Hana Kim writes about pregnancy and maternal health from the perspective of someone actively immersed in medical education and developing a deeper interest in maternal and fetal medicine.
Originally from South Korea, Hana has lived in the United States for approximately seven years. Her experience adapting to a new country while continuing her academic and medical training has given her a unique appreciation for the way health information can be communicated differently across cultures.
Hana is currently in medical school and has become increasingly interested in pregnancy, fetal development, prenatal care, and the physiological changes that take place throughout gestation. She is especially drawn to the science behind the milestones expecting parents often hear about during prenatal visits.
One of Hana’s strengths as a writer is translating complicated medical concepts into language that feels accessible. She believes people should be able to understand what is happening in their bodies without needing to decode pages of technical terminology.
Her academic background also makes her naturally curious. She enjoys digging into the reasoning behind recommendations, understanding how evidence develops, and exploring why certain aspects of pregnancy are monitored more closely than others.
Outside of medical school, Hana enjoys photography, reading, Korean cooking, discovering new coffee shops, and exploring neighborhoods whenever her schedule allows. She remains close with family in South Korea and values the perspective that comes from staying connected to two different cultures.
At Aura Baby, Hana contributes educational pregnancy content with a focus on clarity, evidence, and helping expecting parents better understand the changes happening week by week.
